New Song Academy, Inc.Preschool and Childcare

Preschool, Childcare Non-refundable Fees

Total of the administrative, book and activity fees is required upon enrollment, all non-refundable.

Activity fee includes field trips for students from the current school year and t-shirts.  Summer students will have a separate activity fee.

No refunds are made for absences during the time the child is enrolled in childcare/LK, preschool or kindergarten.  You must pay for Christmas break, Spring break, weather closings, Holidays (including the Friday after Thanksgiving and Good Friday), conference break, absences due to illness or any others.  You are not charged for a one week vacation period which is given after one full year of enrollment (a full year includes summer).  NSA cannot save space for a child past his week vacation period without prepayment in full of each additional week he is gone.  A one week notice is necessary in case of vacation and is not applicable except with a one week notice.  The one week vacation is yearly and not accumulative.

Late Payment

Preschool/Kindergarten--All monthly payments are due the 25th of the preceding month and no later than the last business day of the preceding month. Your child will not be able to return to school if tuition is not paid upon your child's next regular school day plus a late charge as follows: $5.00 per day, per child.

Childcare--Payments may be paid weekly or you may pay ahead as many weeks as you desire. Payments are due no later than Friday in advance of the week your child attends.  A late charge of $5.00 per day, per child is affixed and your child will not be able to return to school if payment is not received on the following regular school day. If you choose to pay ahead, be sure to make your next payment promptly to avoid late fees.

NSA reserves the right to dismiss families after frequent and repeated abuse of the financial policies.

Termination

When you plan to withdraw your child from school, NSA requires a one week notice prior to termination. In case of Preschool or Kindergarten, the entire month's tuition will be required.  Monthly tuitions are never prorated. Kindergarten records cannot be released without a one week notice and an account paid in full.  Prepaid tuition is non-refundable if a student withdraws without a one week notice.

Discipline

If a problem does arise with your child, we will contact you and discuss it with you.  Together we will find a solution and move toward the goal of helping your child grow in Christian love and care for those around him/her. The following is our discipline at NSA:  1. Timeouts in the classroom or office.  2. Choices.  3. Denial of a special privilege or activity, such as a field trip.  Children age two or under:  1. Distraction or redirection.  2. Place the child in "time-out".  If timeouts, choices and denial of a special activity fail to correct and change an inappropriate behavior, we will then call the parent to correct the situation.  The child will have to be taken out of school for the remainder of the day.

Dismissal

We feel confidant there will be no need to dismiss any child.  Our goal is to help your child become part of a happy, loving family.

However, if a problem should become severe enough that it creates an unstable environment for the other children in the classroom, and after we have tried cooperatively, but without success, to work out the solution, then we feel it is in the best interest of your child and the other children to be dismissed.

If a disagreement arises between the parent and the school regarding philosophy or school policy that cannot be resolved, NSA reserves the right to dismiss the student.

Under most circumstances NSA will give a one week notice, however, we reserve the right to dismiss immediately.  Should NSA dismiss a student without a one week notice, payment is due through that day only. Immediate dismissals will receive a written dated notice from NSA, and all student/child records will be released. Payments are due timely, regardless of any situation.

Weather Closings or Act of God

NSA may be closed due to the above.  Please listen to your local TV/Radio stations or check the news websites for closings.  Other closings will be posted in the monthly newsletter.  In the event of a closing, payment will be as usual.

Returned Checks

If a check is returned to us from the paying bank, a fee of $30.00 will be assessed in addition to your payment.  This payment and additional fees must be paid in cash prior to the child returning to class.  Upon the third returned check you will be required to pay future payments in cash, cashiers check or money order.

Forms on File

Children's files are the property of NSA and are retained by NSA.  They are not disclosable except in a case-by-case determination where applicable or necessary. Discussions regarding your children and contents of their file will take place between the Executive Director and parents.  Records are confidential, but are available to parents.

Medication--We will adminster prescription medication upon written instruction from the parent.  We do not administer "as needed" medication without written consent from a parent.  No non-prescription medication will be administered without written instructions from the physician.

NSA will apply topical ointments with a signed parent release form (sunscreen, oral gel, diaper rash cream, etc.) New Song reserves the right to require a release form from your physician, which can be faxed, when the school deems necessary.

Welcome to New Song Academy!

Our sincere purpose and goal is to help your child develop a good self-image and genuine respect for others in a Christian atmosphere and in light of God's word.  We work with children 2 weeks through kindergarten.

Your child will be given numerous opportunities to develop responsibility and a desire to care for others.

Our school is a happy place where your children can feel truly accepted and loved, and we are eager to share experiences to help them find happiness here.

We believe we have one of the finest staff for teaching and caring for your child.  They thoroughly love children and enjoy being with them.

NSA uses a combination of ABeka Book and our developed curriculum.  We believe we have coordinated and developed a wonderful system for teaching academic basics through Christian principles to your child.  Consequently, there is a book fee for your child's own materials needed in this curriculum.

Also included in the program at NSA is gym, music and sensory for children.  Each child will attend these classes during the week.  Girls will need shorts worn under skirts and dresses at gym and recess.  Rubber soled tennis shoes are also required for gym and recess for all children.

"Chapel" is also unique to NSA.  We meet for an object lesson taught through the use of puppets and drama. This is a ministry developed by NSA to help teach children the Bible in family style day-to-day living situations.

We are both formal and informal in our approach to teaching.  We believe we are a positive success oriented school.

General Information about NSA!

Hours

Our school hours are from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday-Friday.  The Preschool Academic Emphasis is 9:00 am-11:30 am.  Kindergarten is 8:00 am-3:30 pm. Latchkey is prior to and after classroom hours.

Late Arrivals/Tardies

All childcare/LK are part of the academic program at NSA; therefore classes begin promptly at 9:00 am.  A pass is required before entering the class if the child arrives after the scheduled class time.

An "excused" tardy/late arrival includes doctor/dental appointments and emergencies (car problems, traffic accidents, unexpected illness or emergency with child or family member).  Anything other than these is an "unexcused" tardy.  An unexcused tardy needs to come in at 11:30 am.  After 5 unexcused tardies per year, NSA will have the right to dismiss the child.  In the case of Kindergarten, we are to report these as required by the State Education Regulations.

Closing and Late Pick Up Fees

NSA closes at 6:00 pm.  If parents arrive late to pick up their children, we charge a substantial late fee.  The fees are applied every 5 minutes after your scheduled class session has ended at either 11:30 am, 3:30 pm and 6:00 pm.  If it appears that a late fee is not a deterrent, the Academy will take up the matter on an individual basis and possible dismissal of your child may occur.

Illness and Accident

If a child is absent due to illness or any other reason, please inform us as soon as possible.  No ill child will be cared for at the school.  A fever is determined as 100 degrees orally.  Please do not send your child if this is the case.  Children must be fever free or any other accompanying symptoms for 24 hours before returning to school.  Early returns or returns after communicable illness requires a doctor's note.

We must also be able to contact you at any time when your child is in school in case of illness or injury.  If your address, phone number or emergency phone number changes, please notify us immediately.

When NSA notifies you of your child being ill, pick up must be within 30 minutes.

Regardless of the illness, tuition will not be reduced and payment must be made timely in order to hold the child's place in class.  Failure to keep tuition up to date will cause the child to be considered a new enrollee on our waiting list.

Insurance

Standard insurance will be carried on your child both in the school and on field trips or planned activities away from the school.

Drills

Plans have been developed for the care of children in disasters such as fire, tornado, storms, etc.  Drills shall be conducted at random monthly intervals.

Snacks and Lunch

Mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks are served daily for children 12 months to K5.  A well balanced meal is served at noon for childcare children.  NSA does not serve breakfast and children are not to bring breakfast with them into the building.
